Business Development Manager

Houston, TX| $60,000 Base + Monthly Bonus

About the Opportunity

We’re partnering with a rapidly growing, nationally recognized international food distribution company they are a dominant force in the global foods space and expanding aggressively across Texas.

This is not a sit-back account manager role. This is for a true hunter.

They’re seeking a Business Development Manager to drive new revenue, open doors, expand territory coverage, and grow market share across Houston and surrounding regions. You’ll be on the ground, in stores, in front of decision-makers, and building relationships that directly impact revenue growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Identify and aggressively pursue new business through cold calls, in-person visits, networking, and industry events.
  • Develop new sales areas and penetrate untapped markets across Texas.
  • Maintain and strengthen existing client relationships while identifying upsell and placement opportunities.
  • Develop and execute territory strategies to hit and exceed revenue targets.
  • Stay ahead of food distribution trends, competitor positioning, and emerging opportunities.
  • Drive revenue growth, increase placements, grow pipeline value, and improve proposal conversion rates.
  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to ensure brand visibility, in-store presence, and performance alignment.
  • Support and collaborate with sales reps to improve store penetration and meet territory goals
What They’re Looking For
  • 3+ years of experience in sales, business development, or territory management.
  • Strong hunter mentality — comfortable with cold outreach and objection handling.
  • Experience in food distribution, CPG, wholesale, or specialty/import markets is a strong plus.
  • Proven track record of hitting revenue targets and growing accounts.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • CRM proficiency and strategic pipeline management ability.
  • Self-motivated, competitive, and comfortable working independently in the field.
