Associate Director, Account Management

Chicago | Hybrid | Full-Time


A global payments technology platform is looking to hire an experienced Associate Director of Account Management to lead and grow a portfolio of high-value, strategic enterprise clients.

This is a senior, commercially focused role where you will act as a trusted advisor to key partners, driving revenue growth, expanding account penetration, and strengthening long-term relationships across a complex, international client base.


The Role

  • Own and grow a small portfolio of strategic enterprise accounts
  • Identify and execute on revenue expansion opportunities (cross-sell / upsell)
  • Build deep relationships with senior stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Develop and deliver strategic account plans aligned to client objectives
  • Lead contract negotiations, renewals, and commercial discussions
  • Monitor account performance, market trends, and growth opportunities
  • Partner cross-functionally to deliver tailored solutions and ensure client success
  • Act as a senior presence within the commercial team, sharing best practices and mentoring others


What You Bring

  • 10+ years’ experience in account management, partnerships, or sales
  • Strong background within payments, fintech, or adjacent industries
  • Proven success managing and growing enterprise-level accounts
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed revenue targets
  • Experience leading complex commercial negotiations
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate insights into strategy
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management experience
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, international environment


Nice to Have

  • Experience in SaaS, API-based products, or technology platforms
  • Track record of influencing internal and external senior stakeholders
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
