At BESTSELLER, we are looking for a hands-on platform engineer to help build and operate Appretio, our AI-powered merchandising platform that is transforming retail, wholesale, and e-commerce across our global brands.

YOUR TEAM

You'll join our dynamic Merchandising Solutions department, comprising over 20 highly skilled professionals, including data scientists, software engineers, and application developers. Our team thrives on collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning, united by a mission to deliver state-of-the-art analytics and AI solutions that empower BESTSELLER's global operations. Your primary workplace will be at our vibrant office in Aarhus.

YOUR NEW ROLE

As Platform Engineer, you will help build and operate the Appretio platform - the foundation our data scientists, engineers, and developers rely on every day. You will work alongside senior platform and DevOps engineers and help build the self-service capabilities that let our product teams move fast. This is a platform-as-product role: your customers are internal, and you will see the impact of your work on fellow engineers every week.

You will be supported with hands-on mentorship, clear areas of ownership, and room to grow toward more senior platform responsibilities over time.

YOUR IMPACT

In this role, you will:

• Build and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS using infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes).
• Contribute to the AWS migration of Appretio, including the Medallion (Bronze / Silver / Gold) data architecture and the infrastructure that runs it.
• Help build self-service capabilities and golden paths that make the paved road the easy road for product teams.
• Support reliability, security, and cost-efficiency improvements across the platform.
• Collaborate with data science, engineering, DevOps, and DataOps teams to keep the platform grounded in real developer needs.
• Work with our agentic development environment.

YOUR PROFILE

You are a pragmatic engineer who enjoys making systems reliable and making other engineers more productive. You want to go deep on cloud infrastructure and grow alongside experienced platform engineers. Your experience includes:

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred; Azure or GCP also valuable).
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, or similar infrastructure-as-code tooling.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerised workflows (e.g. GitHub Actions, Docker).
• Solid scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar).
• A curious mindset and the willingness to learn in a fast-moving, AI-driven environment.
• Good communication skills, able to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

The following qualifications would also be advantageous:

• Exposure to data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake) or streaming (Kafka).
• Experience with monitoring and observability tooling (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Interest or experience in MLOps or running AI / machine-learning workloads.
• Interest or experience in agentic AI development workflows (e.g. Claude Code or containerised AI agents).
