Join our Housing and Homelessness Services team as a Principal Project Officer (AO7) and play a key role in transforming the way housing and homelessness services are delivered.
This is a temporary opportunity until 31 December 2026, with the possibility of extension, offering the chance to drive meaningful change while gaining valuable professional experience in a dynamic and supportive workplace.
In this role, you'll bring your project management expertise and passion for community development to deliver innovative, person-centred solutions for Queenslanders in need. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll lead the planning, design, and implementation of service delivery initiatives that focus on holistic, place-based, and trauma-informed practices. Your work will enable the frontline delivery of housing programs, support partnerships across the housing, homelessness and broader service system, and improve outcomes for individuals and families facing complex challenges.
What will you be doing day-to-day?
- Leading the design, development, and evaluation of service transformation projects using agile project management, human-centred design principles and codesign processes.
- Simplifying operational policies and frameworks to support streamlined, integrated service delivery for clients.
- Managing multi-disciplinary teams and resources, fostering collaboration and leveraging technical expertise to deliver results.
- Building meaningful relationships with internal and external stakeholders to develop a shared vision and align on delivering impactful community-focused solutions.
- Preparing well-reasoned reports, strategic briefings, and presentations that address complex community needs and influence policy and operational decisions.
- Driving innovative problem-solving approaches and ensuring projects meet the department's operational and strategic objectives while reflecting value for money.
- Promoting and contributing to an inclusive, culturally capable, and positive team culture that values collaboration, growth, and workplace safety.
