About the Role:

The Business Operations Analyst is part of the WorldCompliance Data Operations team. The team is structured across three regions—Americas (LATAM and NOAM), APAC, and EMEA—and this position will sit within the APAC team, supporting our regional operations.

An ideal candidate would have an interest in global affairs, including current events, politics, economics, history, or criminology. Exposure to or familiarity with APAC political structures, regulatory environments, and AML/CTF frameworks is preferred, as it will support effective interpretation of regional data and requirements.

The candidate should also have the following skillset:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and a high volume of emails while remaining organized
  • Strong analytical mindset, with attention to detail and the ability to assess nuance
  • Ability to interpret and analyze data to explain variances and trends
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts from documentation, training, and team knowledge sharing
  • Ability to solve routine problems using established processes and standard practices
  • Ability to work within structured procedures while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook and Excel
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment

The key responsibilities for the analyst role are:

  1. Customer Service: Provide responses to content- and policy-related inquiries from Sales, clients, and internal stakeholders regarding the WorldCompliance database. This is not a technical support role; rather, the BOA serves as a subject matter expert on the data and content within the database, with a focus on their assigned region (e.g., APAC), and communicates clearly and effectively with clients via email.
  2. Analysis (database/qualitative): Perform ongoing analysis and maintenance of the database. Utilize tools such as SQL, Tableau/Power BI, Excel, and open-source research to identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for enhancement, ensuring the dataset remains accurate, relevant, and comprehensive. Review information from government sources, regulatory bodies, and reputable media to identify developments relevant to the database. Research and interpret regional laws and regulations—particularly those related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF), sanctions, and politically exposed persons (PEPs)—and covert findings into actionable guidance for research teams.
  3. Team/Project Management: Coordinate with offshore research centers across multiple regions, supporting alignment on production output, quality standards, and policy interpretation. Monitor progress, provide clarifications, and help resolve blockers to ensure consistent delivery. Act as a liaison between research teams and department leadership, supporting project coordination, tracking progress, and providing regular updates on deliverables, timelines, and risks.

Example of a typical day:

  • Review and respond to emails and requests from clients, offshore teams, and internal stakeholders
  • Work through internal queues, including investigations, data reviews, and researcher-submitted requests
  • Review and process scheduled reports using analytical tools
  • Attend or lead meetings with internal or offshore teams as needed
  • Support or execute initiatives aimed at enhancing database quality and coverage
