Overview
Agility Partners is seeking a qualified AWS Cloud Platform Engineer III to fill an open position with one of our clients in the financial services industry. This is an exciting opportunity to support a large-scale, enterprise AWS environment at the center of a company’s digital transformation and regulatory compliance efforts. In this role, you’ll work hands-on with a mature cloud platform supporting hundreds of AWS accounts and serverless workloads. You’ll collaborate closely with security, architecture, and application teams while operating in a highly regulated environment.
As an AWS Cloud Platform Engineer III, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, security, and evolution of the enterprise AWS platform. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong ownership, and the ability to execute complex infrastructure changes while adhering to formal change management and compliance standards.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Managing AWS account lifecycle activities, including provisioning, configuration, and decommissioning within AWS Organizations
- Designing, provisioning, and maintaining VPC networking, Transit Gateway connectivity, and compute infrastructure using Terraform
- Enforcing cloud security and compliance controls including IAM, SCPs, encryption standards, and remediation of security findings
- Providing operational support including monitoring, incident response, cost optimization, and participation in an on-call rotation
The Ideal Candidate
- 5–10 years of hands-on experience in AWS-focused cloud infrastructure engineering
- Strong expertise with Terraform (HCL) and infrastructure-as-code lifecycle management
- Deep knowledge of AWS core services including VPC, EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, KMS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Transit Gateway
- Proven experience operating multi-account AWS environments using AWS Organizations and Service Control Policies
- Proficiency in IAM policy design, cross-account access patterns, and least-privilege security models
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows (GitHub, Jenkins, Terraform Cloud, or similar)
- Background working in regulated, enterprise environments with formal change management and strong documentation practices
