Head of Service & Aftermarket - Onsite in Cincinnati Ohio


We are seeking a strategic, commercially minded leader to build and grow our Service & Aftermarket business. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical understanding with business leadership and is excited to develop a scalable, high-performing aftermarket organization within a global OEM environment.


The Head of Service & Aftermarket will own the full profit and loss performance of the function, drive recurring revenue growth, and lead initiatives that strengthen customer support, improve margins, and expand lifecycle service opportunities across an installed equipment base.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full Service & Aftermarket business, with ownership of revenue growth and margin performance
  • Develop and execute a growth strategy focused on recurring revenue, service expansion, and installed base opportunities
  • Establish and manage key performance metrics, including revenue, gross margin, utilization, and contract penetration
  • Build and scale a structured service organization designed for long-term growth
  • Improve spare parts pricing strategy and overall aftermarket profitability
  • Identify and develop modernization, retrofit, and lifecycle upgrade opportunities
  • Implement domestic technical sourcing strategies to improve responsiveness, speed, and cost control
  • Coordinate aftermarket efforts with global counterparts
  • Develop service contract offerings and long-term customer support programs
  • Lead, coach, and develop field service technicians while improving efficiency and billable utilization
  • Standardize service processes, reporting, and documentation to support a scalable operation


Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in industrial automation, OEM machinery, or technical service leadership
  • Proven track record of growing service revenue and improving margins
  • Strong business acumen, including P&L ownership experience
  • Technical fluency across mechanical, electrical, and automation systems
  • Experience leading field service teams and managing vendor relationships
  • ERP experience preferred, ideally SAP
  • Demonstrated ability to create structure and drive growth in an evolving organization
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Willingness to travel domestically as needed
  • German language skills are a plus
