Job Position: Litigation Attorney (Entry-Level / Junior Associate)

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Litigation Attorney to join our civil defense practice. This is an excellent opportunity for recent law school graduates or early-career attorneys to gain hands-on litigation experience in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Attorneys in this role will receive mentorship while actively working on real cases involving all stages of litigation, including drafting, discovery, motion practice, and court appearances.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with civil litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal correspondence
• Conduct legal research to support case strategy and filings
• Participate in written discovery and document review
• Assist with depositions and witness preparation
• Attend court hearings, status conferences, and motion hearings
• Support trial preparation and litigation strategy development
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff on case management and deadlines

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
• Admission to the State Bar of Michigan (or eligibility / pending results)
• Strong legal writing and research skills
• Interest in civil litigation and courtroom practice
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
• Eagerness to learn and grow in a litigation-focused environment

Preferred (Not Required)

• Exposure to civil litigation, insurance defense, or judicial clerkship experience
• Experience drafting motions, pleadings, or legal memoranda
• Familiarity with discovery and deposition preparation
