Logistics Coordinator

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule inbound and outbound shipments to meet customer and operational requirements
- Oversee environmental drivers (tankers, roll‑offs, dry vans) and logistics office staff
- Manage the shipment, inventory, and tracking of hazardous and universal waste
- Ensure compliance with DOT, RCRA, safety, and internal quality standards
- Prepare and review shipping documents including Bills of Lading, manifests, labels, and customs forms
- Monitor shipment progress, resolve delays, and communicate updates to internal and external partners
- Optimize transportation routes and shipping methods to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Maintain rail car and tank inventory tracking, including sampling and analytics coordination
- Analyze logistics data and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities
- Support process improvement initiatives to streamline supply chain and logistics operations
- Manage driver performance, timecards, evaluations, and DOT renewals
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (preferred)
- 3–5 years of experience in logistics, dispatch, or transportation operations
- Strong working knowledge of DOT and RCRA regulations
- Proficient with logistics software, tracking systems, and Microsoft Office
- Industry certifications are a plus
- Knowledge of Southeast Michigan and Northeast Ohio routes preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational and problem‑solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Detail‑oriented with strong analytical skills
- Adaptable and proactive in resolving unexpected shipping challenges
- Solid understanding of supply chain and inventory management principles
- Combination of office and field‑based work
- Exposure to industrial environments, including fumes, moving equipment, and outdoor weather
- Frequent computer use; occasional climbing, kneeling, and lifting
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and heavier loads with assistance
- Noise level is typically moderate
