Title: Embedded Software Engineer
Location: 5 days onsite in Johnston, IA
Duration: 2026 contract + extensions
Working Hours: 8-5 PM
Required traits:
- 5+ years of experience developing software solutions for embedded systems
- Take code and install and test on hardware
- CPUs, processors
- 5+ years of experience using and implementing solutions with hyperspectral cameras
- Used in several machines, both moving and fixed
- XCAPP software for correctness
- 5+ years of experience in one of the following languages: C, C++, or C#
- Deploying 20 devices this week, entering support phase but will be working on additional projects
- 5+ years of experience with Python for embedded systems
- 5+ years NVidia Jetson Platform - hands on experience
- Similar boards or microprocessors could also work here
- Ability to drive a project
Preferred, not required:
- Experience with Nvidia Jetson Orin or Xavier (boards)
- Experience Gstreamer (How video is acquired through programming)
- Bassler cameras (current), connected to boards, considering moving to GMSL cameras
- Pipeline to move images
- 2+ years of experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or other similar containers
- Used as container method
Position Details:
Insight Global is looking for an R&D embedded software engineer for a large agriculture client. This individual will be responsible for software development for any custom machine required of them including but not limited to lab equipment, field equipment, and costal devices. The team is working together to integrate additonal technologies Nvidia Jettson and Gstreamer. This person will be working most often with the mechanical team spending 80% of their time developing embedded software solutions with Python and C++, and 20% of their time being engaged for other custom solutions. Their main objective will be working with fish eye camera device (LiDAR) images and mapping them to GPS signals by predicting raw data and mapping it to GPS locations.
Compensation:
$40/hr to $48/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
