Brown & Brown is seeking an Employee Benefits Account Manager to join our growing team in Virginia Beach, VA!
The Account Manager supports the Account Executive by assisting in the day-to-day management of client accounts. This role involves coordinating client communications, executing account strategies, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services. The Account Manager acts as a liaison between clients and internal teams to meet client needs and drive satisfaction.
How You Will Contribute
- Assist in managing client accounts, ensuring timely and effective communication. Address client inquiries, issues, and requests with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
- Prepare and deliver client presentations, reports, and updates under the guidance of the Account Executive.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients through regular communication and proactive problem-solving.
- Support Account Executive in developing account strategies and identifying opportunities for account growth.
- Coordinate and track project timelines, deliverables, and milestones.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Account Executive, benefit administrator, sales) to ensure projects are executed according to client specifications and deadlines.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to clients and Account Executive.
- Prepare meeting agendas, take meeting minutes, and follow up on action items.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals, contracts, and invoices.
- Manage relationships with benefits vendors and service providers.
- Life & Health Insurance license (2-15) with 30 days of hire
- Valid driver’s license
- Minimum of 3 years in Account Management or client service experience with large and/or self-funded accounts (required)
- Minimum of high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Proficient with MS Office Suite and Excel
- Organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Travel may be required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s in a business or financial related discipline or experience in lieu of degree (preferred)
- Professional designation (preferred)
- Minimum typing speed of 40 to 50 words per minute (preferred)
- Agency Management System knowledge (preferred)
