Software Engineer – Internal Tools & GUI Development

Founded in Boston, Teradar’s solid-state, chip-scale technology unlocks safer, smarter vehicles and opens the door to transformative applications in mobility, defense, and beyond.

We are looking for a Computer Science graduate who can help us in our journey of building and automating several of our manual tasks.

Responsibilities

• Create web-based internal tools and dashboards with clean, usable interfaces for non-technical staff
• Build data ingestion utilities that accept files (spreadsheets, CSVs, exports) and load them into structured databases
• Build desktop or browser-based GUI tools for data cleaning, validation, mapping, and transformation
• Create automation scripts and lightweight backend services that reduce repetitive manual work
• Create admin interfaces for browsing, searching, and managing database content
• Export and reporting tools that package data into useful formats on demand

Skills

• Comfortable with Python and TypeScript/JavaScript - you’ve built something real with at least one of them
• Basic SQL -you know how to create tables, write queries, and understand relational data models
• Ability to build a working GUI - HTML/CSS/JS, React, Tkinter, Electron
• Some experience handling structured data files or APIs (parsing, transforming, loading)
• Studious about user experience, you care that non-technical users can actually use what you build

Nice to Have

• Flask, FastAPI, or Django for lightweight web backends
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, SQLite, or a cloud database like Supabase or Airtable
• React or another modern frontend framework for richer interfaces
• Experience with data validation libraries or ETL concepts
• Any exposure to Electron, Tauri, or other desktop GUI frameworks
