Accounting Manager

A rapidly expanding manufacturing organization is seeking a talented Accounting Manager to join its entrepreneurial team. This newly created role reports directly to the CFO and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.

The ideal candidate will bring solid manufacturing experience, along with expertise in cost accounting (including standard costing) and inventory management.

Accounting Manager Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP on an accrual basis

- Oversee month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and journal entries

- Lead cost accounting functions, including inventory valuation, standard costing, and variance analysis to support operational decision-making

- Manage and develop an accounting team of four, overseeing A/P, A/R, and general ledger functions

- Partner with executive leadership to enhance accounting processes and strengthen internal controls

- Support budgeting and forecasting efforts, including analysis of actual results versus plan

- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate an efficient audit process

- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, and supply chain to provide financial insights

Accounting Manager Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, CPA a plus

- Proven experience preparing accrual-based financial statements

- Solid background within the manufacturing industry

- Hands-on experience with cost accounting (standard costing) and inventory management

- Prior experience managing or supervising staff

- Systems-oriented with ERP experience (e.g., NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics GP)

- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas)

- Strong communication skills with the ability to lead and develop a team

- Attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

- A proactive, self-driven approach with a collaborative and innovative mindset
