The General Manager (GM) is responsible for the overall P&L, strategy, and execution of a growing engineered products company. Our business is focused on engineered filtration, straining, and pipeline equipment serving oil & gas, LNG, municipal water, and industrial markets.
The GM provides commercial, operational, and leadership direction to drive profitable growth, improve operational discipline, and strengthen our market position as a trusted filtration and engineered-products brand.
This role requires a hands-on leader with strong commercial instincts, technical understanding of filtration and pipeline products, and the ability to align sales, operations, engineering, and supply chain into a high-performing, execution-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities
Business & P&L Leadership
· Own full P&L responsibility, including revenue growth, margin performance, cost control, and working capital discipline.
· Develop and execute annual operating plans, budgets, and forecasts aligned with broader company objectives.
· Establish clear KPIs to track bookings, backlog, margin, execution performance, and customer satisfaction.
Commercial & Market Growth
· Lead all commercial strategy including pricing, market selection, channel strategy, and key account focus.
· Partner with Sales leadership to grow bookings across core markets (oil & gas, pipelines, LNG, municipal water, industrial).
· Strengthen our value proposition in engineered filtration, strainers, pig launchers/receivers, and packaged systems.
· Support key customer relationships and participate directly in strategic pursuits, large bids, and executive-level customer engagements.
Operations & Execution
· Oversee order execution, manufacturing coordination, supplier relationships, and delivery performance.
· Ensure operational discipline from quote → order → delivery, with a strong focus on lead times, quality, and margin protection.
· Drive continuous improvement in supply chain reliability, vendor performance, and internal processes.
· Partner with Quality and Engineering to ensure specifications, codes, and customer requirements are met consistently.
Team Leadership & Development
· Lead and develop teams across sales, inside sales, operations, engineering coordination, and project support.
· Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer focus.
· Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
· Coach frontline and mid-level leaders to scale the business sustainably.
Strategy & Alignment
· Align our division with broader company strategy (including cross-selling with reliability, lubrication, and services businesses where applicable).
· Evaluate product portfolio opportunities, new markets, strategic partnerships, and potential product enhancements.
· Provide clear, concise updates to executive leadership on performance, risks, and growth opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (MBA a plus).
· 10+ years of experience in engineered products, filtration, pipeline equipment, or industrial manufacturing.
· Demonstrated success with P&L ownership and leading a business unit or product line.
· Strong understanding of filtration systems, strainers, pressure vessels, pipeline equipment, or similar engineered products.
· Proven ability to balance commercial growth with operational execution.
· Experience working with EPCs, end users, and industrial operators in energy or infrastructure markets preferred.
