Who We're Looking For
Are you ready to lead transformational growth? As Vice President Sales, you’ll spearhead innovative strategies to apply expansion and retention strategies in existing Fortune 1000 accounts as well as capturing net new accounts across new markets or regions. You will be leveraging your expertise to capture new business and build a high-performance sales team, while collaborating closely with Syniverse Product, Finance, Marketing, Sales support and technical teams. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal leadership role within Syniverse’s Global Sales organization, shaping the future of our business by delivering impactful solutions, forging valuable partnerships, and consistently exceeding ambitious growth targets.

- Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with corporate goals; seek new business opportunities within major accounts, deliver sales presentations, negotiate, and close large deals of strategic importance.
- Build customer relationships at all organizational levels to support, renew, and further penetrate existing accounts.
- Lead a unified, proactive, value-added account team approach to ensuring appropriate levels of direct customer support, while maximizing Syniverse account team resources.
- Review market analysis to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
- Foster positive working relationships between Syniverse and customer organizations to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction.
- Participate in the development of strategic customer planning sessions and reviews to ensure organizational alignment with customer needs and desires.
- Generate new ideas for service and product opportunities; monitor and evaluate competitors’ activities and products; anticipate opportunities the competition may exploit and work to close the gap.
- Represent Syniverse at industry events to promote products and services, network with relevant stakeholders, and stay current with market trends.
- Lead, develop, and support a high-performance sales team to achieve strategic objectives and sales targets.
- Provide coaching and feedback to employees to achieve productivity metrics.
- Perform talent management activities such as talent acquisition, selection, and performance management.
- Analyze and control territory expenses to conform to accounting requirements and budgetary constraints.
- Prepare periodic reports on sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
- Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly.
- Maintain accuracy of online systems designed to report status and progress (e.g., Salesforce.com).
- 15+ years in technology sales (solution sales approach), including progressive leadership roles with direct management of account sales representatives.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent job-related experience), MBA strongly preferred.
- Direct selling and account management experience for major accounts in telecommunications.
- Proven track record of consistently maintaining a robust sales pipeline that supports/exceeds revenue forecast.
- Ability to think strategically and develop executive-level contacts quickly.
- Financial acumen, business savvy, strong negotiation skills, and ability to close large, complex deals.
- Knowledge of spreadsheet software and sales-related software.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with ability to influence behavior.
- Travel required for this position is 50-75%
