- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a Security Engineer-related occupation.
- Position requires 3 years of experience in the following:
- Threat modeling for system security
- Systems hardening to reduce attack surface
- Implementation of security protocols
- Security detection and response
- Security incident management
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000 - $211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Position reports to the Google Kirkland, WA office & may allow for a hybrid schedule as per Google policy.
Responsibilities
- Analyze security systems to identify vulnerabilities and respond to active threats in the environment.
- Design, implement, and maintain robust security controls, tools, and services to mitigate risks
- Operate information security systems and execute established procedures to ensure ongoing protection.
- Develop new features and bug fixes for existing security tools and products to enhance functionality.
- Lead short-term, complex operational tasks independently, escalating critical issues when necessary. Improve security outcomes by proactively identifying and implementing enhancements to tools and processes.
