What To Expect
You’ll join the Scheduling team to build mission-critical web applications that power Tesla’s internal operations. This team iterates quickly, values clean architecture, and works closely with stakeholders to deliver high-impact features. You’ll help shape the frontend experience for scheduling workflows used across Tesla’s global operations.
What You'll Do
Design, develop and support applications and systems under the team’s scope, including all aspects of scheduling appointments within TeslaWrite clean, maintainable, performant, and well-tested code to implement new features and fix bugsCollaborate with backend engineers to define API contracts and ensure seamless integrationWrite unit tests, integration tests, and work with QA to coordinate timely regression for new featuresMonitor live system metrics, respond to alerts, and troubleshoot production issuesCollaborate with Product, Design, and Business stakeholders to plan and prioritize new feature developmentCommunicate changes in project estimates, dependencies, and blockers with affected stakeholders quicklyOwn feature development and projects through design, development, testing, release and productionUnderstand and improve the scalability, maintainability, availability, and visibility of applicationsLearn new technologies, practices and business concepts to solve new problems as Tesla growsWhat You'll Bring5+ years of experience building production-grade web applicationsSolid understanding of fundamental web technologies such as HTTP, REST, AJAX and JSON. Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS and JavaScript / ES6 / Typescript, including DOM manipulation and the JS object modelThorough understanding of REST principles and best practices of building and using RESTful APIsAbility to work efficiently in Typescript and navigate between legacy and modern patternsThorough understanding of core design principles and common patterns of ReactUnderstanding of performance optimization techniques (lazy loading, code splitting, memoization)Experience with common development tools such NPM and understanding of how to develop and publish versioned packagesExperience with Node.js, Express, Next.js, and a willingness to work full stack is a big plusExperience with Redux, React Query, Jest, and GraphQL is a plusBenefits

Sr Software Development Engineer - $159,600 - $239,400/annual salary+ cash and stock awards + benefits for all levels
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
