About Calico Wallpaper

Calico Wallpaper is redefining what wallcovering can be—operating at the intersection of fine art, interiors, and architecture. Founded in Brooklyn, Calico creates immersive, non-repeating wallcoverings using a proprietary blend of hand-painted techniques and digital innovation.

Our work is specified by leading designers and architects shaping the most design-forward spaces in the world. You’ll find Calico in boutique and five-star hospitality environments, flagship retail, and private residences at the highest end of the market. Our collections have been featured in Architectural Digest and Wallpaper*, exhibited at the Smithsonian Institution, and presented at Milan Design Week.

This is not a legacy design house—we are a brand for designers who want to create something original, not specify from a book.

Position Purpose

This is a rare opportunity to own Calico’s home market—New York City, one of the most competitive and design-forward territories in the world.

As Account Executive, you will serve as the face of Calico to top-tier interior designers, architects, and commercial specifiers. You will manage and grow an established portfolio of relationships while selectively driving new business across commercial and high-end residential projects.

This role is built for a senior, self-directed sales professional who thrives in a relationship-driven environment and wants to be embedded in the design community at the highest level.

  • Convert project opportunities from concept through specification to order
  • Serve as a trusted partner to clients—helping bring unique, design-led visions to life

Territory Ownership (Majority Commercial / Minority Residential)

  • Own and grow a mature but expanding NYC territory
  • Drive share gains within existing accounts while expanding into new firms and projects
  • Maintain strong pipeline visibility and consistently progress opportunities
  • Ensure Calico is specified across high-value commercial and flagship residential projects

Market Presence

  • Represent Calico at key industry events (e.g., ICFF, NYCxDesign, AD Show)
  • Build visibility within the design community through consistent, high-quality engagement
  • Stay ahead of market trends, competitor activity, and emerging design talent

Execution & Client Experience

  • Deliver a high-touch, seamless client experience from first introduction through installation
  • Manage samples, quotes, and follow-through with precision and urgency
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and account activity in CRM

What We’re Looking For

  • Network: Established relationships within the NYC design and architecture community
  • Performance: Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets in a territory-based role
  • Commercial + Residential Fluency: Experience across both sectors, with strong understanding of specification-driven sales
  • Work Style: Highly self-sufficient, proactive, and accountable—owns outcomes without heavy oversight
  • Aesthetic Acumen: Deep understanding of high-end design, materials, and client expectations
  • Execution: Strong follow-through across all aspects of the sales cycle
  • Communication: Polished, professional, and credible with top-tier clients

Why This Role

  • Own one of the most important design territories in the world
