Position Summary
The National Account Manager – Foodservice is responsible for managing strategic partnerships across national and regional QSR chains, non-commercial foodservice segments (including colleges & universities, business & industry, and hospitality), and major broadline distributors such as Sysco, US Foods, and Performance Food Group. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of chain account management, distributor engagement, and operator development experience within the foodservice industry.
This role will drive strategic growth within the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) segment by developing and managing relationships with national and regional chain restaurant partners. This role will focus on securing menu placements, limited-time offers (LTOs), and system-wide distribution for Samyang America’s portfolio, with a primary emphasis on Buldak Korean Hot Sauce and other innovative Korean flavor solutions.
This individual will work closely with internal cross-functional teams including marketing, sales operations, finance, and supply chain to develop customer-specific strategies that accelerate distribution, menu innovation, and profitable growth within the foodservice channel.
Key Responsibilities
National Chain Account Management
- Develop and manage strategic relationships with key QSR chains, non-commercial operators, and multi-unit foodservice accounts across the United States.
- Lead customer engagement across multiple functions including procurement, culinary, marketing, R&D, and operations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned foodservice accounts and distributor partners.
- Build and strengthen executive-level relationships within key customer organizations.
- Identify opportunities to integrate Buldak Korean Hot Sauce into menu applications including sauces, marinades, dipping sauces, and LTO promotions.
- Collaborate with internal & external culinary and marketing teams to develop menu innovation concepts tailored to QSR operators.
- Drive product testing, product ideation sessions, and pilot programs with strategic customers.
- Develop a robust pipeline of new business opportunities across QSR, non-commercial, and chain operator segments.
- Manage and expand distribution through key foodservice distributors including Sysco, US Foods, Performance Food Group, and regional distributors.
- Develop distributor pull-through strategies that drive operator adoption and menu penetration.
- Conduct joint sales calls and business reviews with distributor sales teams.
- Support distributor compliance, promotional execution, pricing programs, and contract management.
- Develop and execute Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with key accounts to drive distribution, sales growth, and profitability.
- Build long-term strategic partnerships that increase Samyang America’s share within QSR chains.
- Identify new chain opportunities and develop a strong sales pipeline of prospective accounts.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging flavor trends to support long-term growth strategies.
- Represent Samyang America at industry trade shows, customer events, and culinary showcases.
- Deliver against annual revenue, distribution, and profitability targets.
- Forecast account sales, track pipeline opportunities, and monitor performance metrics.
- Manage pricing strategies, promotional investments, and margin objectives.
- Analyze business trends and provide recommendations to improve channel performance.
- Work closely with marketing, finance, logistics, and operations teams to support customer programs.
- Provide market insights on QSR trends, competitive activity, and emerging flavor opportunities.
- Provide market intelligence and customer insights to support innovation and strategic planning.
- Ensure alignment between customer expectations and internal operational capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- 10+ years of foodservice sales or national account management experience within CPG or food manufacturing.
- Demonstrated experience calling on national QSR chains or multi-unit restaurant operators.
- Strong understanding of foodservice distribution and chain restaurant procurement processes.
- Direct experience managing accounts such as McDonald's, Burger King, Pizza Hut, KFC, Taco Bell, Chick-fil-A, or other leading chicken QSR brands.
- Experience launching sauces, flavor platforms, or menu innovations into chain restaurant systems.
- Experience working with non-commercial segments including healthcare, higher education, hospitality, or recreation.
- Established relationships with major broadline distributors and foodservice operator networks preferred.
