Job Description

🌬️ Ventilation Senior Engineer

Contract (INSIDE IR35) or Permanent 

The Ventilation Senior Engineer will be directed by the Principal Engineer 👨‍💼 and will be required to support the design through the end of Preliminary Design 📐 and then into Define 🔍.

The Ventilation Senior Engineer is required to deliver the ventilation and building services work scope 🏗️, including the production and checking of design deliverables ✅, reporting directly to a Principal Engineer.

The role will involve guiding Designers 👷‍♂️ in the production of:

• Detailed drawings 📑
• Sub-assemblies 🔩
• General Arrangements (GAs) 🗂️
• Layout drawings 🏢
• Flow diagrams 🔄
• Parts lists 📋

The Ventilation Senior Engineer may also be required to produce calculations ➗ to verify detail design and provide design substantiation 📊.

Responsibilities will include the production and compilation of technical documentation 📚 such as:

• Technical specifications 📝
• Risk Assessments (RA’s) ⚠️
• Installation methodology documents 🛠️
• O&M manuals 📘

The Ventilation Senior Engineer will work closely with the multidisciplinary design team 🤝 and plant-based teams 🏭.

The role will support design activities across multiple work packs 📦 that impact ventilation conditions within an Alpha Plant ⚛️.

The Ventilation Senior Engineer will also be required to carry out ventilation assessments 🌪️ to support viable options for improving containment systems 🔒.

Competent use of 3D modelling packages 💻🧩 is essential to share design progress during technical and project meetings 📅.

Qualifications

🛡️ Experience working within a highly regulated industry, preferably within the nuclear industry ☢️

🌬️ Recent experience in Nuclear Vent Plant design and the decommissioning of redundant plant 🏭 would be advantageous, but not essential.

📘 A good understanding of the requirements associated with delivering ventilation designs within the nuclear sector.

📂 Experience in the production of technical files and supporting documentation.

🛠️ Experience of “Design for Assembly” within a nuclear facility.

📐 Experience in the production and development of nuclear ventilation plant layouts.

➗ Production and checking of ventilation engineering calculations and deliverables ✅

🤝 Liaison with key stakeholders and other design disciplines.

📝 Competent report writing skills with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate findings.

⏱️ Comfortable working under time and cost constraints 💷

🚀 The successful candidate will be expected to manage their own workload and drive completion of the work scope independently.

💬 Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to engage effectively with both team members and Clients.

💻 Proficient in Microsoft Office Packages, with a good understanding of 2D and 3D Autodesk CAD products 🧩

📊 Experience using Pipenet would be highly beneficial.
