Role Summary

D3Energy is seeking a Accounting Associate to run day-to-day accounting processing and operations for a project-based construction business. This is a hands-on role responsible for AR/AP invoice processing, job cost accounting, and maintaining accurate financial and project cost records across multiple active construction projects.

The ideal candidate has direct experience in construction accounting, is highly proficient in QuickBooks, and is comfortable working with project management systems such as Procore.

Key Responsibilities

• Process AR/AP invoicing, including general ledger and reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate job cost accounting across multiple active construction projects
• Track project budgets, committed costs, actual costs, and cost variances
• Support WIP reporting and percent-complete project tracking
• Coordinate project financial data between Procore and QuickBooks
• Manage project billings, retainage, and change orders
• Support monthly close and preparation of financial reports
• Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate cost coding and reporting
• Coordinate with external CPA or fractional controller on tax filings, audits, and higher-level accounting matters

Required Qualifications

• 3-5 years of accounting experience
• Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks / Intuit Enterprise
• Solid understanding of job cost accounting, WIP, and project billing
• Comfortable working independently and owning day-to-day accounting functions
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with construction or project-based accounting
• Experience using Procore or similar construction project management software
• Familiarity with percentage-of-completion accounting
• Experience supporting a growing or entrepreneurial construction company
