Responsibilities
- Visit prospective businesses door to door in targeted towns within approximately a two-hour driving distance to identify and engage potential delivery partners.
- Present and pitch the new delivery partner program to prospective businesses in a clear and compelling way to generate interest and encourage them to apply.
- Qualify prospective businesses based on defined criteria and guide them step by step through the application process to ensure accurate and timely completion.
- Lead and track sales and recruitment activity in a customer relationship management (CRM) system, using Salesforce to manage and maintain a robust pipeline of prospects.
- Support the Field Manager in planning, coordinating, and hosting recruitment events in the community, such as lunch-and-learn sessions and town hall-style meetings.
- Partner with the Field Manager to build relationships with local influencers, including chambers of commerce and economic development associations, to drive referrals and expand outreach.
- Import and update Excel spreadsheets into Salesforce on a weekly basis to ensure data accuracy and visibility into recruitment progress.
- Conduct outbound follow-up activities, including calls and messages, to nurture leads, answer questions, and move prospects through the funnel from application to launch.
- Collaborate closely with teammates to share insights from the field, refine outreach strategies, and continuously improve the recruitment process.
- Provide exceptional customer service to prospective partners, addressing questions, resolving issues in the field, and helping them navigate any obstacles in the application or onboarding process.
- Maintain a high sense of urgency and professionalism while managing multiple prospects, deadlines, and administrative tasks.
- Contribute to raising the bar for the delivery experience by helping bring high-quality partners into the program, particularly in complex last-mile delivery scenarios.
- At least 2+ years of experience in sales and/or customer service roles.
- Proven outside or field sales experience, including face-to-face prospecting and relationship building.
- Hands-on experience using a customer relationship management (CRM) system; Salesforce experience is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct prospecting activities, including outbound calls and proactive outreach, to build and manage a sales pipeline.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain program details clearly and handle questions or objections effectively.
- Experience in roles involving sales and/or negotiation with customers, with the ability to influence decision-makers and close commitments.
- High level of professionalism, including reliable follow-through, strong work ethic, and polished interactions with business owners and community partners.
- Enthusiasm for working with others in a collaborative environment and willingness to support teammates and a Field Manager.
- Strong sense of urgency, with the ability to prioritize tasks, respond quickly to opportunities, and move prospects through the process efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems for applicants in the field, including resolving application or technical issues.
- Tech-savvy mindset with experience working with multiple systems and technology, such as CRM platforms, spreadsheets, and mobile tools.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to approximately four hours round-trip on a daily basis to cover assigned territories.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus and can help build rapport with a broader range of local business owners.
- Additional experience in field sales beyond the minimum requirement is beneficial, particularly in business development, account management, or outside sales roles.
- Prior experience generating and managing referrals through community organizations, chambers of commerce, or similar groups is advantageous.
- Experience in outbound prospecting, including cold calling and door-to-door sales, is highly valued.
- Comfort working with Excel and other spreadsheet tools to organize data and support reporting.
- Strong organizational skills and self-discipline to manage an 80/20 split between field work and at-home follow-up or administrative tasks.
- Motivation to work in a performance-driven environment with uncapped commission opportunities tied to partner applications and successful launches.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Portland, OR.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.50 - $28.50/hr.
