Software Engineer (Android)

We are a prime contractor with the U.S. Department of Defense, so candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship, right now or in the future. This is a full-time position in our Coral Springs, FL office and is not a remote position. We are a 100% on-site work environment and will only be considering local candidates in the areas listed: Miami, Broward, Palm Beach. This is an entry level role and great for recent grads, 1-2 years of experience!

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated Android Developer to join our mobile engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of Android applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, backend engineers, and data scientists to deliver reliable and scalable mobile solutions.

This position is well suited for a developer who enjoys building polished mobile experiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain Android applications and components
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, and backend engineers
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Implement new features and improve existing functionality
• Identify and fix bugs, performance bottlenecks, and security issues
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving development processes
• Stay updated with new Android frameworks, tools, and best practices
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Experience

• Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree
• 2+ years of experience developing Android applications
• Strong knowledge of Kotlin or Java
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and networking
• Experience working with the Android SDK and Android Studio
• Experience with Git or other version control systems
• Knowledge of UI design principles and responsive layouts
• Ability to work in a fast-moving, collaborative startup environment
• Basic understanding of machine learning or AI concepts and their application in software products
• Must be proficient in data structures and data manipulation
• Must be fluent in written and spoken English

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience integrating AI/ML models or AI-based APIs into applications
• Capable of providing detailed analysis of identified issues
• Experience with Jetpack Compose
• Familiarity with MVVM or other Android architecture patterns
• Knowledge of Room and other common Android libraries
• Experience with unit testing and UI testing
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments
