Position Summary

The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) will manage and grow key accounts in the Northeast U.S. Territory, ensure customer satisfaction, and identify opportunities for sales growth and business expansion. The SAM will act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts and territories and will work closely with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet customer needs, drive business growth and deliver sales and growth objectives. This is a remote role; however, we prefer the ideal candidate to reside in the NE Territory in one of the following states: ME, VT, NH, MA, NY, CT, RI, PA, NJ, MD, VA, WV. All applicants should reside near a major airport and be able to travel 50%-70% of the time.


Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for prospecting and managing sales pipeline.
  • Responsible for executing annual sales objectives, budgets, and project plans.
  • Develop relationships with customers.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of competitive activities and communicate recommendations in response to market conditions and trends.
  • Design and recommend sales and marketing programs; set short- and long-term sales strategies for the territory.
  • Responsible for forecasting and sales tracking, inclusive of daily sales activities within the territory.
  • Empowered to make decisions within the territory in partnership with functional peers.
  • Align commercial and operational initiatives to achieve business objectives.
  • Attend trade shows and customer events.
  • Submit regular activity/call reports concerning customer-related activities for quotes, orders, and problems concerning customer/vendor relationships.



Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Experience with Steel & Scrap recycling industries highly desirable.
  • 5 or more years in outside sales in an industrial or technical sales role.
  • Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency, personable, well organized.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated decision making and strategic account management.
  • Advanced skill with all MS Office products.



Travel Required

  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License with a safe driving record.
  • Must possess a Real ID for Airport Travel
  • Must be able to travel regularly up to 70% of the time.
