Account Manager - Exploration Drilling

A market-leading drilling OEM with a long-standing reputation in exploration drilling is looking for an Account Manager to support major drilling contractors across the South West US.
This role is ideal for someone who understands drilling operations firsthand — whether from time spent on the rigs, running drill programs, managing crews, or supporting drilling projects in the field.
You’ll work directly with drillers, supervisors, and drilling managers to help customers get maximum performance from their rigs and tooling, while also introducing additional products and solutions that improve drilling operations.
This is not a cold-calling sales role.
The accounts are already established and generating $10M–$12M in annual revenue, including some of the best-known exploration drilling contractors in the market. The focus is on relationships, field support, technical credibility, and growing existing business.
What the role looks like
- Supporting active drilling projects across Nevada, Arizona, Utah, and Colorado
- Working closely with drill crews and drilling managers in the field
- Helping customers improve tooling performance and rig utilisation
- Being the trusted technical contact for key accounts
- Identifying opportunities to introduce additional rigs, tooling, and drilling solutions
- Regular travel across the territory (approximately 70%)
- Home-based with a company truck provided
- Reporting directly to the Country Manager
What they’re looking for
- Background in exploration drilling, drilling tooling, or drilling equipment
- Former driller, driller assistant, drilling supervisor, field specialist, or technical drilling support experience is highly attractive
- Someone who understands the realities of drilling operations and can speak credibly with crews on-site
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Comfortable managing a large territory independently
