We're a 12-person custom software development firm with deep roots in the energy industry, and we're hiring our first dedicated salesperson. Today the founder runs all of sales. You're the next seller, with a real path to building and leading the function as the company scales.

Custom-built software for companies in the energy-adjacent space: solar panel manufacturers, wind farms, gas pipeline operators, battery makers, transformer manufacturers, civil engineering firms, architects who serve utility infrastructure, and commercial construction companies that build power plants. If a company's customer base includes power utilities, they're in our lane.
Our engagements come in three flavors:
โข System integrations that fix manual double-entry and disconnected internal tools
โข Brand-new app builds driving automation or new capability ($500K to $2M+)
โข Legacy app rescues for customers who lost their developer or dev shop

โข $100K minimum deal size, target $200K to $500K
โข Some deals run $1M to $2.3M
โข 3-month typical sales cycle (6 weeks fast, 6 months past expiration)
โข Mostly uncompetitive engagements (rarely up against another agency)
โข Project-count quota structure rather than a dollar number

โข Build and run your own pipeline. You'll generate 80-90% of it at launch through outbound prospecting, NRECA (National Rural Electric Cooperative Association) events, and tradeshow vendor floors.
โข Run consultative discovery with operations, HR (human resources), and accounting leaders. The IT (information technology) department is rarely the buyer here, often the reason customers come to us.
โข Close project-based engagements through a 3-month consultative cycle.
โข Help us scope and hire the BDR (business development representative) and admin support that come once you've proven the seat.
โข Grow into the most senior person on the sales team as we build the function around you.

โข 3 to 8 years selling B2B (business-to-business) into energy-adjacent industries is the strongest fit. Solar, wind, gas, batteries, civil engineering, energy construction, transformer manufacturing, and similar all qualify.
โข Or 3 to 8 years selling consultative scoped services (custom software, technology consulting, strategy engagements), with willingness to learn the energy vertical fast.
โข Hunter mindset. You own your pipeline, work events and associations, and prospect outbound without being asked.
โข Comfortable with project-based deals in the $100K+ range and a 3-month consultative cycle.
โข Self-driven, accountable, carry-your-own-bag. No excuse-makers.
โข Phoenix-based or willing to relocate.

โข Base: $70K to $120K (commensurate with 3 to 8 years of B2B sales experience)
โข OTE (on-target earnings): $140K to $240K

โข Three-month ramp bonus available for the right profile, tied to leading indicators
