About The Opportunity
As a Global Account Manager for a major Client Meetings and Events Programme, you'll be the strategic relationship lead ensuring exceptional delivery of account management services and commercial value on a global scale. This is a senior account management position requiring deep MICE industry expertise and proven experience managing complex, multinational meetings and events programmes.
You'll develop and execute strategic business plans, maintain strong relationships at all levels—from programme managers to C-Suite executives—and drive continuous improvement across the entire programme. With Regional Account Management Teams, Operations, Supplier Partners, and Technology teams supporting you, you'll ensure governance, risk mitigation, and performance excellence across the programme.
What You Will Do
- Serve as the primary strategic point of contact for a global meetings and events programme, building relationships with clients at all levels including C-Suite executives
- Develop and execute Strategic Business Plans in partnership with the client to drive programme milestones and continuous improvement
- Prepare and present business reviews, progress reports and data-driven presentations to senior stakeholders
- Conduct programme risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and manage Business Continuity planning
- Lead scorecard reviews—tracking SLAs and KPIs against Programme Goals to ensure performance excellence
- Collect and analyse client data to provide actionable insights and improve MICE service delivery
- Design change management and transformation plans to drive year-over-year programme adoption and optimization
- Identify new business opportunities within the existing programme and optimise 3rd party supplier partnerships to drive cost savings
- Drive Sustainability Initiatives leveraging MICE industry partnerships and best practices
- Define and execute stakeholder engagement plans across multiple regions and functions
- Develop timelines and key milestones to ensure timely completion of complex programme initiatives
- 5+ years' experience in MICE account management managing corporate meetings and events programmes
- Proven track record managing global, complex, multi-stakeholder MICE client relationships in a strategic account management capacity
- Deep industry knowledge of corporate meetings, events, groups, incentives, and travel with understanding of MICE supplier landscape (DMCs, hotels, venues, transport providers)
- Strong background in programme governance, stakeholder management and strategic client business planning for MICE programmes
- Advanced skills in strategic planning, risk management, data analysis and commercial analysis specific to meetings and events programmes
- Experience developing and presenting business reviews, KPI tracking, and performance metrics to senior stakeholders
- Excellent communication and presentation skills—English required, additional languages beneficial
- Self-motivated, results-focused, and able to perform under pressure in a client-facing environment
- Tertiary qualification in relevant field (professional certifications in account management, CMP, or MICE-related fields preferred)
- Willingness to travel internationally when required and work flexible hours to accommodate global client needs
