Software Development Engineer - 2 (Frontend)

The SDE-2 (Frontend) role is a critical one for us, given the demanding requirements of the business that we are in. Services cannot be prone to error, and data must be accurate. The quality of the development is very critical, yet there is a need for a rapid development pace. We would need you to be on your toes, develop high-quality software, show prudence in judgments, show depth in design and work well under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and QA engineers.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions, and contribute to technical improvements.
• Debug and resolve software defects and production issues promptly.
• Continuously learn new technologies, tools, and best practices to improve development processes.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on 3+ years of experience with React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5 CSS3 and SCSS for building scalable enterprise-grade frontend applications.
• Deep expertise in React architecture, including Hooks, Context API, custom Hooks, Suspense, lazy loading, rendering optimisation, reusable component patterns, and scalable state management using Redux Toolkit/Zustand.
• Experience designing scalable frontend systems using micro frontends, module federation, component-driven architecture, shared UI libraries, and enterprise design systems.
• Strong understanding of frontend performance optimisation, responsive design, accessibility standards, Core Web Vitals, and modern tooling, including Webpack, Vite, Babel, ESLint, Storybook, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, frontend security best practices (OAuth2 JWT, and RBAC), and frontend testing frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, Playwright, and React Testing Library.
• Strong exposure to AI-assisted engineering workflows using GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, and AI-powered IDE workflows for code generation, refactoring, testing, debugging, documentation, and engineering productivity improvement.
