Position: Account Executive
Location: New York, NY
Employment Type: Full-time, Hybrid 3x a week in office
Compensation: Up to $100,000 + bonus
Position Overview
The Account Executive will be responsible for driving sales growth and profitability across assigned accounts while ensuring alignment with company objectives. This role involves building strong relationships with retail partners, collaborating with internal teams, and identifying new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution to achieve category and revenue goals. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Lead market appointments and presentations to showcase product offerings and drive engagement
- Drive sales and profit across core and excess inventory to meet revenue targets
- Partner with merchandising on assortments to ensure alignment with category goals
- Negotiate seasonal buys with retail partners to secure favorable terms and maximize profitability
- Manage timelines and adhere to key calendar milestones to ensure timely execution
- Analyze selling performance, including identifying best and slow-moving products for strategic action
- Identify new business opportunities across accounts and categories to expand market share
- Oversee order confirmations and related processes to maintain accuracy and compliance
- Monitor competitive activity and conduct market/store analysis to inform strategy
- Mentor and support junior team members to foster professional development
- Collaborate with planning on monthly forecasts to ensure accurate projections
Required Experience/Skills
- 3+ years of Account Executive experience with specialty accounts
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple projects effectively
- Proven ability to build and maintain cross-functional and external relationships
- Effective negotiation and communication skills (in-person, virtual, and written)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to drive data-informed decisions
- Detail-oriented with a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Excel for reporting and analysis
Preferred Experience/Skills
- Experience in fashion, apparel, or consumer goods industry
- Familiarity with retail math and inventory management principles
- Knowledge of market trends and competitive landscape
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Experience mentoring or leading junior team members
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred
