Clayton Services is searching for a Key Account Manager to join a thriving company in Stafford, Texas. The Key Account Manager will be responsible for driving business development, managing key customer relationships, and expanding sales within the power generation industry.
Job Type: Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $130,000 - $160,000/year plus annual bonus opportunities

Key Account Manager Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers within the power generation industry
- Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities with major power end users and engineering firms
- Promote product offerings and solutions to expand market share within assigned territory
- Collaborate internally to develop customer-specific strategies related to pricing, product mix, and market positioning
- Review customer specifications and documentation to ensure accurate product selection and proposal development
- Prepare and present detailed, competitive, and technically compliant quotation packages
- Respond to customer inquiries and provide clarification on technical specifications, quotes, and purchase orders
- Support order processing and assist with technical product questions throughout the sales cycle
- Conduct regular in-person client visits to strengthen relationships and identify new opportunities
- Manage customer-related risks including overdue payments, organizational changes, and issue resolution
- Prepare monthly and quarterly sales reports including activity updates, pipeline status, and market trends
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the CRM system
- Participate in trade shows, product presentations, and customer training initiatives
- Stay current on industry trends, competitive landscape, and product developments
Key Account Manager Skills and Abilities:
- Strong background in outside sales within the power generation industry
- Proven ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships
- Experience working with EPC firms and managing capital project sales (CapEx)
- Technical understanding of industrial valves and related equipment
- Ability to analyze specifications and develop tailored solutions for customers
- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities
- Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools
Key Account Manager Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of outside sales experience in the power or energy sector
- Experience working directly with major power generation end users required
- Background in industrial valve sales or similar engineered products preferred
- Experience supporting both MRO and project-based sales environments
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required with relevant experience
