Senior Software Engineer
Indexed description
At Parallel, we build AI agents to help healthcare facilities automate their administrative processes, starting with medical coding.
Today, up to 25% of healthcare spending is lost in manual, repetitive administrative work. Legacy software hasn’t helped, it’s made things slower, more complex, and more frustrating for care teams.
We believe AI agents can change that. Our technology combines Large Language Models with system-level automation to handle real work inside existing hospital tools. No integrations, no disruption.
Our first agent automates end-to-end coding workflows and frees up time for medical staff to focus on patients.
We launched in 2024, are backed by top investors (Frst, Y Combinator, Hexa, Kima Ventures, Better Angle), and we’re just getting started.
The future of healthcare isn’t just digital — it’s automated. Come help us build it !

As we scale, we're looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join us at this pivotal moment. You won’t just write code — you’ll help shape the architecture, make key product decisions, and define our engineering culture. This is a rare opportunity to build with high ownership, alongside a small and passionate team who cares deeply about craft, clarity, and impact.
You’ll work closely with the founders on everything from fast prototypes to production-ready systems, and play a critical role in bringing Parallel’s vision to life. If you're excited by the idea of building an iconic product in a space that's ripe for reinvention, we’d love to talk.
We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to help us achieve our mission of reducing administrative workload in hospitals.
This is a full-time role focused on building AI solutions designed to be rapidly deployed into production in hospitals.
Mission
As a Full-StackEngineer, you will:
Drive the development of our medical coding backend
Help building the medical coding LLM agentic solution in close collaboration with our CTO
Build the frontend of the solution (doctors & admin operators user-facing app)
Build data pipelines between hospital systems and our tech stack, ensuring interoperability while adhering to HDS (health data security) standards
Work closely with the CTO to refine our application’s architecture, balancing fast iterations and scalability
Engage in the fast-paced, product-focused environment of an early-stage startup
We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about the ongoing AI revolution, action-oriented, autonomous, and ambitious. You are the ideal candidate if you have:
5+ years of experience in Fullstack Dev Role
Proficiency in Node.js & Typescript
Experience in devOps and infrastructure (no need to be proficient)
Ability to work with high-level goals, break down complex problems, and deliver results independently
Top engineering schools
French speaking
Technical stack
Backend: Typescript with NestJS, Express, Prisma, Postgres
Frontend: React, TanStack, Tailwind
Data: Python & Node (for low level proxy servers)
Tools: Monorepo, Github, Github actions
Infra: AWS, GCP, Azure, Docker, ECS/Fargate, GKE Autopilot
IaC: Terraform, Terragrunt, Packer, Ansible, Infracost, Checkov, tfsec
CI/CD: GitHub Actions, OIDC federation, self-hosted runners on GCP
Networking & Security: VPC peering, HA VPN, AWS WAF, CloudFront, Route 53, Cloud DNS
Data & Caching: Redis (ElastiCache, Memorystore), Milvus/Zilliz, Pub/Sub
Observability: Datadog
AI/ML: Hugging Face, LangChain
On-prem: Ansible, Docker Compose, site-to-site VPN (GCP HA VPN)
Architecture & engineering philosophy
Domain-driven & decoupled: we build for the long term. you'll work within a hexagonal architecture using domain-driven design (ddd) to keep our core business logic pristine and adaptable.
Highly asynchronous & scalable: healthcare workflows are complex. our systems are highly async, heavily leveraging event-driven architecture, cqrs, and projections to ensure we scale seamlessly.
Built for resilience: in health tech, dropped processes aren't an option. we build fault-tolerant systems utilizing message brokers, job queues (bullmq), robust retry mechanisms, dead letter queues (dlqs).
Security & safety first: operating with sensitive health data means security (hds) is our foundation. we enforce strict boundary contexts and full end-to-end type safety from the database to the ui.
Pragmatic over dogmatic: we embrace containerization and modern tooling to move fast, but we aren't afraid to use "boring," battle-tested tech when it’s the right tool for the job. our infrastructure is designed to empower iteration, not block it.
Product-minded engineering: we don't just ship features; we solve real problems for care teams. deep product involvement and high ownership are expected.
