As a Software engineer, you will be responsible for building the tools and systems to scale hotels launches worldwide with a focus on supply growth. You will design and build product and platform features to achieve our goals. You will help define and maintain a culture of craftsmanship and excellence. You will represent the engineering team with global cross-functional partners.

A Typical Day

• Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional partners to understand requirements, prioritize work, and scope projects within your team’s roadmap.
• Build services and new APIs to hotel tools and onboarding workflows
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code to build backend services and platform capabilities.
• Participate in on-call rotation and contribute to operational excellence by improving runbooks, monitoring, and rollback readiness.

Your Expertise

• 3+ years of experience in a hands-on software engineering role in backend/full-stack development.
• Bachelor’s and/or Master/PhD’s degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in one or more JVM-based languages such as Java, Kotlin, or Scala.
• Experience building backend systems or services in a service-oriented or distributed systems environment.
• Passionate about efficiency, availability, technical quality and system quality.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Your Location:

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. How We'll Take Care Of You

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.

Pay Range

$165,000—$180,000 USD
