WHY DEPT®?
We are a Growth Invention company built to help the world’s most ambitious brands grow faster. Operating at the intersection of technology and marketing, we create what is next by pioneering ideas, acting fast, and moving further because standing still just is not in our DNA.
We are drawn to people who stay curious, move with intent, and never stop inventing. Our culture runs on three values: better together, relentlessly curious, and get sh*t done. It is how we work, how we grow, and how we make things that matter.
At DEPT®, you will find the freedom to explore, the space to collaborate, and the trust to make a real impact for our clients, for each other, and for the world we are helping to build.
THE ROLE:
We are looking for a well-rounded, flexible Data Engineer with an interest in translating business goals into concrete solutions. You’ve been part of more than one team, you’ve demonstrated initiative on most of your projects, and you can tell us in technical detail what you did to help. Ideally, you’ve worked with at least one DevOps team, and in at least one flavor of agile. If you haven’t, we won’t hold that against you. At DEPT®, we pride ourselves on our pragmatic, engineering approach to making data work for the business.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
-
Build & Design: Participate in the technical design of robust systems, schemas, and data pipelines, offering sound architectural guidance.
-
Bridge the Gap: Translate complex client business needs into elegant technical solutions, managing and realigning expectations if scopes or timelines shift.
-
Own the Pipeline: Manage end-to-end data ingestion into Data Warehouses via APIs, modern ETL/ELT tools, and batch feeds.
-
Solve Problems Independently: Proactively research new technologies and methodologies, knowing exactly when to collaborate and when to drive a solution forward.
-
Mentor & Collaborate: Work closely with peers and new hires, helping them understand, adopt, and apply engineering best practices.
-
Manage Priorities: Balance multiple technical tasks simultaneously while keeping stakeholders clearly informed on overall project health.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- 4+ years of professional software engineering and consulting experience, with a proven track record of assessing client tool portfolios and data ecosystems.
-
Strong Programming Fundamentals: Deep experience with modern development workflows (IDEs, CLI, Git) and proficiency in:
-
Scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby) OR compiled languages (e.g., Java, Scala, C++).
-
-
Data & Pipeline Mastery: Hands-on experience engineering data workflows using:
-
Orchestration tools like Airflow or Luigi, or enterprise ETL tools (Informatica, SSIS, DataStage).
-
Modern Database Systems like BigQuery, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Redshift, or SQL Server.
-
-
DevOps Exposure: Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and containerization tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, or Docker.
-
Cloud & OS Savvy: Experience working within cloud environments (AWS or GCP) and comfort operating in Unix-based OS environments are major pluses.
WHAT DO WE OFFER?
- We enjoy spending time together, working closely with other local colleagues, and getting to know one another. Our Buenos Aires offices (Villa Crespo or Mar del Plata) are fully equipped with refreshments and great common spaces!
- Premium healthcare through OSDE for the employee and their immediate family members
- Mendel prepaid card with a monthly allowance for grocery purchases
- Monthly reimbursements for Wi-Fi/electricity expenses
- Monthly reimbursements for training/English classes
- 100% covered “Plan Total” membership at Sportclub
