The Role As a Staff Site Reliability Engineer you'll play a lead role on the founding SRE team at our new NYC engineering hub. You'll own multi-team reliability and infrastructure architecture, drive cross-functional initiatives, and set the standard for operational excellence across Legora's platform, partnering closely with teams in Stockholm. *This is a New York-based, 5-day in-office role. We believe building together in person drives better outcomes. What You'll Do Architect and own reliability and infrastructure strategy across multiple teams and services Own the observability, capacity planning, and monitoring strategy for complex distributed systems Define and evolve SLI/SLO frameworks, error budgets, and production readiness standards org-wide Lead incident management practices, escalation design, and drive systemic improvements from post-mortems Champion toil reduction, on-call sustainability, and long-term system resilience Partner across engineering to lead design reviews and raise the bar on deployment safety and operational quality What You Bring Deep experience operating, designing, and improving large-scale production systems A technical leader who drives reliability outcomes across teams, not just within your own Strong architectural judgment for distributed systems: failure modes, scalability, and graceful degradation Effective communicator who spreads knowledge through post-mortems, runbooks, and design guidance What’s In It For You Global collaboration: Partner with teams and clients domestic and internationally.
