The Team

You will be a key part of the DTA Faculty & Delivery team in Costa Rica, which collaborates across geographies to build and deliver world-class technical upskilling programs. The team is responsible for enabling continuous learning journeys through live sessions, labs, mentoring, and hands-on engagements with Deloitte professionals.

You will work closely with other global SMEs, content developers, and operations to deliver practical, business-aligned technology learning programs with measurable outcomes.

Work You Will Do:

As a Manager, Technology Facilitator specializing in Java & AWS (good to have), you will primarily be responsible for developing content and facilitating technical training sessions for Java & AWS (good to have) on the themes below. You should also have a good understanding of all related concepts at basic and at an advanced level to

• Deliver engaging technical training sessions focused on JAVA (Java Core & Advanced, Spring Framework Projects, Microservices) & AWS (good to have)
• Design and architect comprehensive instructional strategies and curriculum materials to empower workforce proficiency in Java technologies.
• Facilitate dynamic, interactive training experiences—both virtually and in-person—that drive deep skill acquisition and engagement.
• Develop and deliver high-caliber technical content that aligns with industry-leading standards and organizational objectives.
• Craft impactful presentations, rigorous technical assessments, and immersive hands-on labs to translate complex concepts into practical expertise.
• Mentor and support participants through real-world programming and testing challenges, fostering confidence and mastery.
• Implement robust evaluation mechanisms to measure participant progress and performance through targeted assignments, assessments, and feedback loops.
• Serve as a trusted advisor by proactively addressing learner queries, providing clarity, and ensuring a seamless learning journey.
• Continuously monitor and integrate the latest advancements in Java, testing frameworks, and development tools to keep training content future ready.
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement by refining training methodologies and materials in response to participant insights and evolving best practices.
• Partner with cross-functional teams and the Academy to co-create and enhance innovative training programs that meet strategic business needs.
• Pioneer and incorporate emerging teaching methodologies and technologies, delivering measurable value and expertise to the learning ecosystem.
• Demonstrate agility and commitment by traveling as needed to deliver high-impact, in-person training across diverse locations.
• Embrace flexibility by proactively cross-skilling and upskilling to address evolving technology landscapes and business priorities.
• Inspire and motivate learners by combining deep technical acumen with a passion for cultivating high-performing, future-ready teams.
• Proactively learn, implement, and champion Gen AI capabilities—such as GitHub Copilot and other AI-driven tools—to ensure training remains at the forefront of innovation in an ever-evolving industry.

The successful candidate will possess:

Technical SME proficiency in

Java:

• Deep expertise in Core and Advanced Java, including Servlets, JSP, and JDBC, for scalable web applications and backend integrations.
• Extensive hands-on experience with ORM technologies such as Hibernate and JPA for efficient data persistence and optimized data access layers.
• Advanced proficiency in the Spring ecosystem all the modules, especially Spring Boot, for modular, production-ready application development along with Spring Cloud.
• Proven ability to design and consume RESTful APIs, enabling interoperable and scalable distributed services secured with JWT.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, design patterns, and implementation for decomposing monoliths and enhancing system scalability.
• Experience with logging frameworks (log4j, slf4j) for application monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in unit and automation testing using JUnit, Mockito to ensure software quality and support test-driven development.

Code Quality & Build Tools:

• Working knowledge of version control systems, especially Git, as well as SVN and CVS, for collaborative code management.
• Proficiency with build tools such as Maven and Gradle for efficient project management and CI/CD integration.

Web Technologies:

• Solid foundation in front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript, jQuery, AJAX, Bootstrap) for responsive, interactive web interfaces.
• Practical experience with modern UI frameworks such as Angular and React; familiarity with Vue.js or Next.js is an advantage.

Database:

• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including Oracle, MySQL, and MongoDB, for data modeling and performance optimization.

DevOps:

• Practical experience with DevOps concepts (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins) for containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments.
• Working knowledge of messaging systems (Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ) for building scalable, event-driven applications.
• Gen AI Driven Development:
• Familiarity with GenAI-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot), and understanding of RAG and agent-based frameworks to align with emerging technology trends.

AWS(good to have):

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS Compute services, including EC2, Lambda, Elastic Beanstalk, ECS, and EKS for scalable, serverless, and containerized application deployments.
• Proficiency in AWS Storage solutions such as S3, EFS, RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB for object storage, shared file systems, and both relational and NoSQL databases.
• Expertise in designing Secure Cloud Networks with VPC, managing access with IAM, securing APIs with API Gateway and Certificate Manager, and configuring network security with Security Groups and Network ACLs.
• Practical experience with AWS Messaging and Integration services, including SQS, SNS, and EventBridge for decoupled, event-driven architectures.
• Monitoring and logging proficiency using CloudWatch for performance metrics and logging, and AWS X-Ray for distributed tracing and debugging.
• DevOps skills in automating CI/CD pipelines with CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy, and managing infrastructure as code with CloudFormation or Terraform; experience with AWS Cloud9 for cloud-based development.
• Experience with AWS Secrets Manager and Parameter Store for secure configuration management, ElasticCache for caching and performance optimization, and CloudTrail for governance and auditing.
• Must specialize in AWS Persona trainings like - Cloud Architect, Cloud Developer & DevOps roles.
• Adult Training Experience: Experienced in explaining technical concepts to adult learners and providing business-specific technical examples to make learning relevant and practical, including coverage of end-to-end scenarios from an implementation standpoint.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to create Full Stack Web Applications with Java and leveraging AWS Cloud to deploy the solution leveraging the knowledge of the Services
• Communications Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation abilities.
• Facilitation Certifications: Possession of facilitation or trainer certifications.
• Market-recognized Certifications: Technology Certifications for the JAVA and AWS skills.
• Relationship Building: Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
• Ethical Considerations: Awareness of ethical considerations and responsible AI practices.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong English and Spanish oral and written communication skills
• Minimum 5 years of technology, corporate training, learning and development, or related experience on Java and AWS (good to have)
• Demonstrated, end-to-end training experience: conception and initiation, planning, execution, performance/monitoring, and project close
• Be able to provide Demo’s in a way that would help the listeners grasp the concepts
• Can co-relate the concepts with real time examples and bring in live project experiences
• Ability to travel as needed
• Must be legally authorized to work in Costa Rica without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
