Opportunity
Provides strategic, technical, and architectural expertise to software development projects and team members. Able to work independently with limited supervision in designing and developing new software products or major enhancements to existing software. Acts at the highest level of technical expertise addressing problems on systems integration, and compatibility. Performs feasibility assessments and often leads initiatives on development projects with other engineering staff. Collaborates with Enterprise Architects and Project Management to translate design specifications to production platforms.
► Key Areas of Responsibility
Designs, modifies, develops, and implements IT software architecture solutions.
Effectively plans and manages assignments spanning multiple complex projects.
Serves as a technical expert to IT Managers and functional teams in the IT organization.
Drives technical and procedural change relative to best practices in software development.
Champion and integrate AI-assisted development practices, including Agentic development, to enhance efficiency and product quality.
Builds teams as necessary to solve problems by taking ownership and mentoring developers in finding solutions.
Participates in the preparation, review, and analysis of software requirements and specifications.
Designs, plans, and coordinates work teams on new or existing software projects.
Provides guidance and expertise on sustaining or maintenance support to existing software.
Excellent communicator regarding technical issues with the ability to clearly define to senior management.
Defines and implements test strategies for software products.
Ensures compliance with internal policies, procedures and internal controls in accordance with the Sarbanes- Oxley Act 2002 Section 404.
Qualifications
► Key Qualifications
BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field required with 10+ years’ experience in this field or MS in Computer Science with 6+ years’ experience in this field required.
Experienced in all phases of the software development lifecycle required.
Strong familiarity with DevOps functions, including a clear understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
Required familiarity with navigation and management within the Azure Portal.
Demonstrated ability to lead large projects or solve highly complex programming problems.
Ability to effectively communicate business issues and needs at a management level.
Demonstrated ability to lead and build teams to solve business problems.

Additional Information
The salary range for this position is $100,000- $135,000 / year.
The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
