About the Role
Our client is a global leader in advanced energy storage and battery technology, supplying high-performance solutions to some of the world's most demanding industries. They are looking for a Senior Sales Manager to join their regional commercial team, acting as a senior commercial leader responsible for driving strategic growth through new business acquisition, expansion of named accounts, and execution of market segment strategies. The successful candidate will serve as the primary commercial face of the organisation to major customers and high-growth companies, leading executive-level relationships, complex negotiations, and cross-functional alignment to deliver long-term business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead new business acquisition across large strategic accounts and emerging high-growth companies within the region
- Own full commercial responsibility for assigned existing accounts, driving retention, growth, profitability, and long-term strategic positioning
- Develop and execute regional segment strategies, account plans, and growth initiatives aligned with company objectives
- Own revenue, pipeline, and growth targets for assigned accounts and strategic market segments
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities from initial engagement through to negotiation, award, and launch
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key stakeholders across Purchasing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, and Executive Leadership
- Lead complex commercial negotiations covering pricing, contracts, supply agreements, and long-term commercial terms
- Drive white-space growth by identifying new applications, programmes, business lines, and partnership opportunities
- Lead cross-functional internal teams to support customer strategy, quotations, issue resolution, and execution of commercial commitments
- Analyse sales performance, market conditions, and competitive intelligence to identify risks and opportunities
- Develop business cases, strategic recommendations, and account growth plans for senior leadership
- Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations on pipeline, revenue outlook, and major commercial opportunities
- Maintain accurate forecasts, account plans, and pipeline data with regular updates to senior management
- Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced members of the sales team
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA preferred
- 10+ years of sales, business development, or strategic account management experience in a B2B environment
- Proven track record of growing strategic accounts and winning new business
- Experience managing complex, senior-level customer relationships and commercial negotiations
- Strong ability to develop account growth strategies and support business planning
- Excellent executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across customer and internal leadership teams
- Strong analytical, organisational, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience within a large, global organisation and/or technical manufacturing environment preferred
