This role is a hands-on analytical position supporting Process Accounting with a focus on investigating complex account issues, executing remediation analyses, and ensuring accuracy across customer, transaction, and program-level data. The analyst will translate business rules into scalable SQL logic, perform root-cause analysis, and support fix-forward solutions in partnership with IT, Risk, ERS, and cross-functional teams. Success in this role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and disciplined documentation to ensure fixes are correct and audit-ready.
Summary Of Essential Job Functions
- Construct and execute advanced Snowflake/SQL queries to investigate cardholder account issues and error conditions
- Triage incoming remediation requests, confirm intake form completeness, and request missing details when needed
- Diagnose what error occurred, when it occurred, and why it occurred by analyzing account history, system outputs, and related datasets
- Determine the appropriate remediation approach (data correction, system update, process fix, or escalation) and coordinate execution
- Validate impacted populations using defined criteria, and when criteria is unclear, develop logic to identify impacted populations and quantify scope
- Perform population validation, reconciliation, and data quality checks to confirm accuracy prior to remediation and after remediation completion
- Research unexplained variances in reporting or account behavior and translate findings into actionable next steps
- Produce recurring reports, dashboards, and executive summaries related to remediation volume, drivers, trends, and outcomes
- Document investigation next steps, logic, and remediation decisions so work is repeatable and defensible for stakeholders and audit needs
- Communicate clearly with business partners on status, scope, root cause, remediation plan, timing, and risks
- Collaborate cross-functionally to identify process improvement opportunities, reduce recurring defects, and improve intake quality
- Prepare materials (PowerPoint summaries, readouts, and written updates) for T&F leadership and partner teams as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Information Systems, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field
- 2 to 4 years of experience in data analysis using SQL, including query building and reporting
- Strong proficiency with SQL and relational data concepts (joins, aggregations, filtering logic, data validation techniques)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Power Pivot, formulas; macros a plus)
- Experience working with structured and unstructured data in warehouse environments
- Ability to interpret business rules and translate them into clear population definitions and validation logic
- Strong problem-solving skills with an investigative mindset and comfort working ambiguous issues to resolution
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple remediation efforts simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and documentation discipline
- Familiarity with BI and reporting tools (Tableau, SharePoint, or similar)
- Experience in financial services, card/transaction data, or regulatory remediation work a plus
