Ada Developer

We are looking for an experienced Ada Developer to join assignments within safety-critical and defence domains. This is a technically demanding role where software reliability, standards compliance and engineering rigour are non-negotiable. You will contribute to the development and maintenance of mission-critical systems built to the highest quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate and maintain software in Ada for safety-critical or defence systems
• Write clean, traceable and standards-compliant code in accordance with applicable guidelines
• Perform unit testing, code reviews and static analysis
• Collaborate with systems and verification engineers across the full development lifecycle
• Contribute to documentation, configuration management and quality processes
• Support integration activities and troubleshoot complex technical issues

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing software in Ada (Ada 83, Ada 95, Ada 2005 or Ada 2012)
• Background in safety-critical, defence, avionics or embedded systems environments
• Strong understanding of real-time and resource-constrained software development
• Experience with software verification, testing and lifecycle documentation
• Analytical mindset with high attention to detail and code quality
• Fluency in English

Meritorious Experience

• Familiarity with DO-178C, DEF STAN 00-55 or similar safety and defence standards
• Experience with SPARK Ada for formal verification
• Knowledge of RTOS environments and low-level hardware interfaces
• Experience working within classified or regulated defence programmes
• Background in radar, navigation, communication or weapon systems software
