About The Role
As a PreSales Technical Account Manager (TAM), you act as the Worldwide Technical Orchestrator for the assigned strategic customer accounts. You are accountable for defining and driving the global technical engagement strategy, ensuring successful adoption, expansion, and long-term value realization of Siemens EDA solutions. You work in close partnership with Sales, R&D, and extended PreSales teams to support customer success and sustainable revenue growth.
This role aligns with the PreSales TAM career framework (TAM I–V) and offers progression toward Senior or Principal TAM roles, PreSales or Technical Management roles, and broader technical leadership positions within Siemens.
Responsibilities
Customer Strategy & Planning
- Define and maintain the global technical account strategy aligned with the account business plan
- Develop customer roadmaps supporting land, expand, and defend strategies
- Understand customer business drivers, design environments, and decision processes
- Prioritize technical engagements based on value and impact
- Lead cross-functional technical engagements across regions and sites
- Coordinate field, expert, partner, and R&D resources
- Ensure consistency, quality, and execution of technical activities
- Track risks, dependencies, and outcomes across all engagements
- Drive adoption and expansion of Siemens EDA solutions
- Position integrated, end-to-end solution flows rather than point tools
- Support competitive replacement and technology transition initiatives
- Provide technical leadership throughout opportunity lifecycles
- Represent customer needs and priorities internally
- Provide structured feedback to product management and R&D
- Support alignment between customer expectations and product direction
- Communicate roadmaps, capabilities, and commitments clearly to customers
- One or more large, complex, multi-site strategic accounts
- Cross-portfolio responsibility across multiple EDA domains
- Regular interaction with senior customer technical leadership
- High degree of autonomy and influence without direct authority
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Experience in EDA, semiconductor design, or related technical roles
- Experience in customer-facing PreSales, technical consulting, or solution leadership roles
- Experience working with global, complex customer organizations
- Understanding of the electronic product design lifecycle
- Knowledge of IC / ASIC / FPGA design and verification flows
- Familiarity with modern verification methodologies is an advantage
- Business and commercial awareness
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to influence without authority
- Strong planning, prioritization, and execution skills
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives in parallel
- Comfortable working across cultures and geographies
- English and German language skills
