Account Executive - Payroll Product (DACH) (d/f/m)

As an Account Executive (d/f/m) for Personio Payroll, you'll own the full sales cycle—from pipeline generation to close—exciting our customers to adopt our payroll solution. Working closely with Account Managers, Sales Development, and Customer Success teams, you'll guide customers through their decision-making process and drive significant growth for Personio.
Role Responsibilities: What you'll do
- Account Expansion: You identify and convert existing Personio customers from our 15,000+ customer base into Personio Payroll users, driving growth within our established accounts.
- Sales Ownership: You manage the full sales cycle from the first interest of an existing customer through to closing deals.
- Payroll Expertise: You act as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor for Personio Payroll, using a hunter mindset to identify customer needs and sell solutions, not just features.
- Market Development: You play a significant role in strategically building and developing the German Payroll market within Personio's existing customer base.
- Product Collaboration: You provide critical feedback to the product development team to continuously adapt Personio Payroll to customer needs.
- Lead Generation: You partner with Sales Development, Account Management and Marketing teams to develop and execute lead generation strategies for Payroll adoption.
- Cross-functional Partnership: You collaborate with Revenue & Success teams, Solution Engineering, and Partnerships to seamlessly integrate Personio Payroll into customers' existing IT landscapes.
- Hunter Mentality: You bring high drive, a strong sense of ownership, resilience, and a solution-oriented approach to expanding accounts within our existing customer base.
- Sales Experience: You have 3+ years of end-to-end B2B SaaS sales experience, ideally with a focus on cross-selling, account management, or HR/Payroll/Finance solutions.
- Proven Sales Success: You have a track record of exceeding sales targets within an existing customer base and delivering accurate forecasts.
- Stakeholder Management: You skilfully manage and influence multiple stakeholders across Payroll, HR, IT, and C-level, while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
- Analytical Mindset: You leverage data and sales tools like Salesforce, Zoom, and Gong to drive insights and optimize your sales process.
- Product Curiosity: You're eager to quickly learn complex products and develop deep expertise in payroll-related customer needs.
- Language Proficiency: You are fluent in German (C2) and English (C1), with strong written and verbal communication skills.
At Personio, we value in-person collaboration while also offering flexibility. This role is office-based, with 3 days per week required in your contracted office location. The remaining days can be worked from home or in the office if you prefer. In addition, you’ll have 20 Flex Days per year to work remotely from other locations.
