We are seeking an Employee Benefits Account Executive, responsible for managing a portfolio of client accounts, acting as the strategic benefits advisor and primary relationship manager. In addition, you may be involved, working closely with our Senior Advisor, in helping to close new business. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, positive self-starter, with the desire to learn, contribute and succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage relationships with clients, acting as the main contact for strategic planning and benefits initiatives and work closely with clients at multiple levels
- Lead the entire renewal process from planning and analysis through open enrollment communications, including alignment of organizational and cost objectives, analyzing plan design and options, carrier negotiations, and competitive market analysis
- Collaborate with Benefits Analysts to analyze benefits & coverage, cost data, and claims information to recommend optimal plan designs and funding models
- Lead OE meetings to educate employees on benefits, including plans & coverage changes, healthcare trends, preferred network dynamics, and available resources
- Develop benchmarking reports by gathering data from reliable sources, surveys, and industry reports; analyze and compare client’s plans to other benchmark companies by size, stage, location
- Advise clients on regulatory compliance, including ACA, ERISA, and other federal and state compliance; and coordinate with internal team on compliance administration & support
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field
- 8+ years of demonstrated progressive experience in employee benefits in a brokerage or consulting firm
- Active CA Life and Health insurance license
- Deep understanding of various employee benefit plans: medical, dental, vision, life, disability, HSA, FSA and HRA, including fully insured and self-funded models
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Team player, self-starter with ability to work independently
- Familiarity with Employee Benefits Technology tools and platforms
