Compensation Range: $4,000 AUD – $4,500 AUD / Monthly
Engagement Type: Independent Contractor Agreement
Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with Australian business hours (approx. 9 AM – 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration.

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our engineering team. This role is critical to the development and deployment of our infrastructure, ensuring robust CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), cloud environment optimization, and seamless collaboration across development, QA, and operations teams. The ideal candidate is passionate about automation, performance, scalability, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
CI/CD Pipeline Management
- Design, implement, and maintain robust, scalable CI/CD pipelines
Cloud Infrastructure
- Manage and optimize infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Ensure high availability, performance, and cost efficiency
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools
Monitoring & Alerting
- Implement and maintain monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic)
- Ensure system health, performance, and reliability
Security & Compliance
- Enforce security best practices and conduct regular audits
- Ensure compliance with standards such as SOC2 and ISO 27001
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with engineering, QA, and stakeholders to support deployments and optimization
- Troubleshoot issues and improve system performance
Incident Management
- Participate in on-call rotations
- Lead root cause analysis and implement preventative measures
Containerization & Orchestration
- Build and manage Docker containers and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, ECS, Nomad)
Version Control & Automation
- Apply GitOps practices and develop automation scripts (Shell, Python, etc.)
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps or Systems Engineering
- Strong experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, ArgoCD)
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Proficiency in IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Solid understanding of networking, security, DNS, load balancing, and firewalls
- Experience with scripting and automation (Bash, Python, etc.)
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or similar
- Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd)
- Knowledge of serverless architecture and microservices
- Background in Agile/Scrum environments
- Experience with GitOps tools (Flux, ArgoCD)
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive compensation package ($4,000 – $4,500 AUD/month)
- Performance-based incentive plan with the opportunity to earn significant bonuses based on product ownership
- Incentives are paid out twice yearly
- 2 weeks paid vacation annually (to be taken over the Christmas period)
- All Philippine public holidays are observed as paid days
- Performance and compensation reviews conducted at least annually

This is a remote role under an independent contractor engagement.

- Be available for meetings and collaboration during core AEST (AU) business hours
