Position Overview
This role is responsible for driving sales growth within a food manufacturing environment by developing new business and expanding existing customer accounts. The position serves as a key commercial partner, working cross-functionally with Product Development, Operations, and Quality teams to deliver customer-focused solutions, bring new products to market, and increase volume, revenue, and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Drive revenue growth by identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities
- Manage and grow existing customer accounts to increase volume, profitability, and product penetration
- Build strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers in customer organizations
- Lead customer presentations, product pitches, and business reviews
- Identify customer needs and translate them into actionable product and packaging solutions
- Partner with Product Development and Operations to successfully launch new products and meet customer expectations
- Develop and execute account strategies to achieve sales targets and margin goals
- Forecast sales, track performance, and proactively adjust strategies to meet or exceed goals
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms while protecting company margins
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities
- Ensure alignment with food safety, quality standards (e.g., SQF), and regulatory requirements in all customer solutions
- Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows as needed
- Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives that impact customer success
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Food Science, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of sales or account management experience, preferably in food manufacturing, CPG, or B2B ingredient sales
