Position Summary:
Employee uses their qualifications, experience, expertise, judgment and discretion to obtain, maintain, service, market and grow the insurance business of The Liberty Company (“Company”). Assists Company clients with obtaining/renewing insurance coverage for Company clients on terms and at prices that are competitive and appropriate. Assists Company in managing all aspects of Company’s relationship with Company’s clients, including administration, marketing, customer service, and receivables. Assists Company in managing all aspects of Company’s appointments with carriers, including assisting with audits, memos and updates.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Primarily responsible for small business unit commercial lines accounts.
- Prepare submissions for Company accounts, including new/renewal business, market Company accounts as appropriate, and prepare and present proposals for Company accounts, including on-site meetings as appropriate.
- Oversee quality control and compliance duties to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and company policies.
- Prepare change requests for Company and Company accounts
- Review audits, policies and endorsements for accuracy.
- Initiate new account files in related agency management system.
- Invoice Company accounts (agency bill transactions)
- Assist Company and carriers with collections.
- Assist Company with carrier audits, including audit disputes.
- Prepare and implement marketing strategies, particularly with respect to upcoming expirations (within 120 days).
- Manage account cancellations as appropriate, including communicating with Company’s carriers and clients to address cancellations, ensure continuation of coverage, and mediate any issues or disputes related to cancellation.
- Manage carrier memos and process updates.
- Manage Company account requests, including requests for ID cards, evidence of property, certificates of insurance, binders, policies and related documents.
- Evaluate Company accounts’ exposure and risk in determining appropriate markets for obtaining quotes.
- Use experience, expertise, judgment and discretion in selection of carriers for Company accounts.
- Obtains quotes for coverage, negotiates with carriers regarding coverage terms and interprets coverage for clients.
- Evaluate and recommend additional coverage to Company clients based on client needs.
- Delegate assignments to administrative assistants, as appropriate.
- Manage Company accounts by, among other duties, keeping other team members fully informed of all important activities on Company accounts.
- Manage Company receivables, renewals/expirations, as appropriate.
- As appropriate, act as Company liaison with carriers and clients regarding complaints, claims, and grievances related to assigned accounts. Using experience, expertise, judgment and discretion, attempt to resolve complaints, claims, and grievances related to assigned accounts.
- Service Company and clients in a manner to avoid potential exposure to E&O claims.
- Alert team members and Company executives of incidents that may require intervention.
- Be responsive to phone calls and e-mails.
- Be responsive to Company client requests (e.g. ID cards, certs, binders, change requests).
- Maintain current, consistent, detailed documentation on all client activity, phone conversations, and correspondence in AMS360.
- Prioritize workload and request assistance as necessary to reduce backlog.
- Participate with executives, senior management and other team members (departments/personnel) on special projects and on the formulation and implementation of Company policies and procedures, as needed.
- Keep current on rates, forms and coverage changes through bulletins, trade publications, seminars and other forms of continuing education.
- Participate in seminars and classes to continue development of qualifications, expertise and experience.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience handling commercial lines accounts.
- Education requirement: High school diploma or equivalent is required, college degree preferred.
- Active DOI P&C License required.
- Knowledge of AMS360 system or similar agency management system.
- Knowledge of commercial insurance and products.
- Located in Pacific Time Zone and able to work 8:30am - 5:00pm PT hours.
