Account Executive - Fashion - New York City - Hybrid

We are seeking an experienced Account Executive who brings at least 4-5 years of experience in a showroom environment working with buyers/merchants. Our client will look for experience working with specialty store fashion brands. Must understand how to develop product into a brand, aesthetic and what the trends are in each category. This role will serve as a key liaison with overseas partners and cross-functional partners with the goal of ensuring seamless execution from product development through delivery. The ideal candidate has strong apparel industry experience, understands trend and development( a plus to love and understand knitwear). Will work with buyers, design teams, and tracking systems. Should be ready to answer questions and take ownership of a section of the business. This role can be hybrid 3 days in office in NYC/2 WFH.
The base salary range for this role is $100,000-120,000 based on experience plus bonus eligible.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for buyer/merchants, managing communications, timelines, and deliverables.
- Partner with design, merchandising, and production teams to ensure product development and execution to meet the stores requirements.
- Manage item setup and product submissions through the stores systems.
- Prepare and deliver sales materials, proposals, and presentations tailored to needs.
- Monitor weekly sales and benchmark reports, analyze performance, and provide actionable insights to drive the business.
- Conduct competitive market research (in-store and online) and present trend and performance findings to leadership.
- Oversee product approvals (fits, construction, trims, colors) and ensure timely follow-up with buyers and internal teams.
- Coordinate with overseas factories on costing, production timelines, and delivery schedules to ensure on-time shipments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to orders, production, and delivery in collaboration with suppliers and merchants.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records including sales order books, sample logs, and production tracking.
- Lead preparation for key meetings and market appointments, including showroom setup and presentation materials.
- Collaborate with finance, logistics, and operations teams to align forecasts, purchase orders, and margin objectives.
- Demonstrate the ability to be flexible to handle evening calls with overseas offices weekly.
Required Qualifications:
- 4–5 years of experience in account management, in a private label and development format including sales in apparel. SWEATER KNOWLEDGE A PLUS
- Must have direct experience working with leading retailers, including systems knowledge. Fashion specialty stores a plus.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, or related field preferred.
