We are seeking a talented individual to join our Employee Health & Benefits team at Marsh McLennan Agency. This role will be based in Dallas , Texas . This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least two days a week in the office.
As a Senior Account Consultant, you will manage and advise client accounts for employers regarding their medical, dental, life, and disability benefit plans and programs. You will negotiate with benefits carriers and vendors to secure health and welfare plan coverage, acting as the primary consultant and relationship manager for our clients.
We will count on you for:
Client Service & Relationship Management
- Own client satisfaction and retention; serve as primary client contact for strategic issues.
- Manage delivery of client timelines and workflow checklists; coordinate account team and vendors to meet milestones.
- Monitor service quality and resolve escalated issues with carriers/TPAs/vendors and internal teams.
- Develop and maintain relationships with client decision-makers, HR/Benefits teams, and C-suite sponsors.
- Analyze plan data and present performance, financial/risk reports, and renewal projections.
- Recommend plan design, funding arrangements (including stop-loss), and vendor solutions aligned with client strategy and trend management.
- Lead pre-renewal planning, RFP/renewal strategy, vendor negotiations, and final renewal recommendations.
- Oversee implementation, installation, and enrollment activities; ensure smooth transitions from renewal to execution.
- Track account revenue and collaborate with Producers on fees/commissions and growth opportunities.
- Support RFPs, finalist presentations, and MMA marketing events; represent MMA externally at conferences and community events.
- Maintain market knowledge and carrier/TPA/vendor relationships and required professional licenses.
- Serve as an internal subject-matter expert; coach and mentor account team members and support their development.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in benefits consulting, account management, or a related client service role within an insurance brokerage or benefits administration environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of employee benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/HSA, COBRA) and regulatory requirements (ERISA, ACA, HIPAA).
- Proven ability to manage complex accounts, prioritize competing deadlines, and deliver high-quality results under pressure.
- Exceptional client-facing skills with the ability to build credibility and influence at all levels of an organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and comfort working with data, billing, and vendor reconciliation processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; familiarity with CRM and benefits administration platforms preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Active Texas Life, Accident & Health License.
