The Royal Caribbean Group’s Destination and Product Development team has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Account Executive, Destination Product Development reporting to our Senior Manager, Regional Product Development.
Position Summary
This position is responsible for assisting the Regional Product Development Managers with the shore excursions and tour programs by analyzing, administering and maintaining information in Pre Cruise Planner (PCP) program; Agiloft / DocuSign, Riskonnect, Service Now, SmartSheet Content, Medallia and future SAP Commerce platform, as well as by distributing tour program information across all fields of business, internally and externally with third-party vendors. This is done by strategic initiatives, comparative analysis on products and pricing and finding niche markets
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist with product and brand management in the development of shore excursions and special events in assigned regions and ensures that tour programs are properly and consistently presented.
- Responsible for the production and maintenance of the shore excursion collateral, including but not limited to; tour descriptions, tour content worksheets, contracts, insurance certificates, incident reports, guest comments, tour operator restrictions, pricing master, and online content.
- Analyze weekly queries from system, shipboard and shore side management, and report on key performance metrics recommending to management suggested courses of action to maximize guest satisfaction.
- Communicates tour content, pricing and specifics of tour programs to all internal/external venues for sales/promotional purposes.
- Provides support to call centers, internal/external sources regarding tour program.
- Create training documents for presentations within or outside of the organization.
- Coordinate and review with all relevant tour content.
- Handle all details with tour operators and changes to shuttle program, tour content worksheets, tour descriptions, etc.
- Assist with performing site visits.
- Develop and assist shore excursion programs in assigned regions for Royal Caribbean International.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills
- Associate of Science degree in hospitality, tourism, business administration or related field or equivalent years of directly related shore excursion/tourism experience.
- At least two (2) years of experience in Global Tour Operations and/or planning or supporting tour program development.
- Understanding of Global Tour Operations in-house management/IT systems is desirable.
- Experience with AS400 preferred
- Good understanding of select domestic and international destinations.
- Excellent communication, time management, project management, and writing skills.
- Ability to analyze trends and pricing/cost data.
- Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Office.
- Must be able to work independently as well as a team member.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and via email.
- Must be proficient in both written and verbal English skills with a second language (Mandarin, Spanish, Italian, French, or German) preferred.
- May be required to travel for training or conventions 10% of the time.
- Stay aware of world events and the effect they may have on ship calls and corresponding tour operations.
- Remain informed of industry trends and events via review of trade journals and other industry communications/forums / etc.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos. Ability to communicate effectively with various departments within the organization, both shipboard and shore side. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to build, challenge and develop a high caliber team both shoreside and shipboard.
