Your Work Will Focus On Products Reshaping Education

• TeachTap: Uses AI to animate historical figures in an engaging, TikTok-style learning format.
• TeachTales: Captivates learners through personalized, enchanting narratives that improve understanding.
• TimeBack: Functions as a proactive learning assistant that connects with current applications to guide students.
• Athena: Employs AI-created videos and assessments to produce measurable learning gains.

Your role will be to steer the technical advancement of these products, guaranteeing they remain scalable, maintainable, and dependable over time. Working hand-in-hand with product teams, you will convert strategic objectives into technical architecture and address intricate challenges while upholding rigorous quality benchmarks. The decisions you make will determine the product's trajectory and affect how thousands of learners engage with educational content.

What You Will Be Doing

• Feature Development: Architecting and building new capabilities with emphasis on scalability, maintainability, and sustained product value.
• Requirement Engineering: Partnering with product teams to clarify requirements and guiding technical conversations to ensure features serve strategic objectives.
• Operations and Maintenance: Overseeing product reliability, optimizing performance, and anticipating and addressing potential issues.
• Technical Design: Executing high-stakes technical choices that directly influence user experience and system scalability.

• Bouncing between transient projects or pursuing the latest technology fads.
• Supporting internal IT infrastructure or contracted work with no meaningful user engagement.
• Spending time in unproductive meetings or resolving repetitive infrastructure tasks.

Basic Requirements

Senior Software Engineer key responsibilities

• At least 1 year of full-stack development experience, working on front and backend features.
• At least 2 years as the primary technical contributor for a SaaS product, driving strategic technical decisions.
• At least 4 years of experience working on actual SaaS products, not outsourcing or internal IT projects.
• Experience in using generative AI in your day-to-day development work.

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $50 USD/hour, which equates to $100,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
