Position Overview: This position is with a well-established, locally owned insurance agency that has been in business for nearly 50 years. We’re located in a vibrant office building with many nearby amenities. The Commercial Account Manager will assist both Producers and the Agency in the daily management and growth of a book of business through account retention, account rounding and new business growth.
Work Arrangement: This is a full-time hybrid position working 1 day per week in our office located in Charlotte, NC.
Professional Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to the Producer, Agency and Insured in the daily management of policies.
- Process renewals in coordination with Producer according to agency procedures.
- Complete new / renewal applications in coordination with Producer and Client.
- Conduct online rating and / or submit applications to eligible carriers.
- Follow up to ensure timely receipt of quotes / renewal policies.
- Review carrier proposals for accuracy, highlighting coverage differences from what was requested.
- Prepare summaries of insurance, schedules, and proposals as needed.
- Order and issue binders, certificates, evidences, policies and other related items; verify their accuracy; invoice and transact, prepare client documents and policy binders (electronic and/or paper).
- Review and issue requests for Certificates or Evidence of Insurance, insuring contractual and policy compliance.
- Work with Clients, Producers and Carriers to facilitate policy change requests, obtaining the information needed for processing, verify for accuracy, facilitate any corrections, invoice, and transact.
- Review carrier audits of policies; verify accuracy and facilitate corrections as needed between the client and carrier.
- Processes incoming mail and phone requests, responding promptly and appropriately.
- Use agency credit and collection policy in invoicing and pursuing prompt payments, request cancellations from the carrier according to agency standards.
- Accurately maintain the client account in Applied EPIC per procedures.
- Accompany the Producer on prospect and client meetings as needed.
- College degree preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in similar role
- Current NC Property & Casualty License
- Knowledge of insurance products and usages.
- Knowledge of insurance markets, rating and underwriting procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
- Proficient with use of Microsoft Office Suite and products
- Experience with Applied EPIC or similar agency management system preferred.

- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
